Meet the Team

  *Jeni Kenyon assists Dr. Bungard during exams and surgery, and does dental cleanings under Dr. Bungards supervision.

   *Sarah Offerman assists Dr. Bungard in exams and surgery and assists in phlebotomy and lab work. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Biological Science from Michigan Technological University.

    Her course work includes medical mycology & virology, molecular biology, essential cell biology, mammalogy, microbiology, and immunology. She has also worked and volunteered in several wildlife rehabilitation centers.

  *Heather Rice is our receptionist but also lends a hand wherever needed, and is certified to do pullorum testing.

The Staff

     We're here when you need us, whether it's for a routine wellness checkup, a much needed vaccination, dental or surgical procedure or even an emergency procedure. Our staff has passion for their work, so you can rest assured that  your best friend is in the best hands.

     In an effort to reduce our footprint on the planet, whenever possible we reuse packing boxes, use non-bleached paper toweling, and paper bags for merchandise.

     We also proudly use products made in the USA whenever possible.

  Dr. Walter E Bungard is a graduate of Michigan State University. He is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and  also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology.

  Dr. Bungard is certified by both the State Board of Examiners and the State Board of Pharmacy as well as holding membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association.

  *Marlee Valentine is the Assistant Manager and works with Dr. Bungard in exams and surgery, does phlebotomy and lab work and manages the "front of the house".

  Marlee holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from CMU and an Associates of Science and Art from NMC. Her course work includes Microbiology, Zoology, Animal Behavior, Conservation Medicine, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy and Mammalian Physiology.  Marlee is also certified in wildlife handling and chemical immobilization and is pursuing her LVT license.

*Patty Turner  has been with us since spring of 2004. Patty assists Dr. Bungard during exams and surgery.
